Faraday’s pre-built integration with Segment as a destination allows us to share your Faraday data with your Segment account to activate with it.

We can push data such as Faraday Personas and your predictive Outcome, e.g. "High Risk for Churn” scores appended to your Segment account.

Granting access within Segment

  1. Log into your Segment account from the Segment login page.

  2. Click ConnectionsSources in the left-hand sidebar.

  3. In the resulting Source page, click Add Source in the upper right.

  4. Search for the source Ruby, click it, and select Add Source.

  5. Name the Source Faraday. Labels/Destinations are up to you.

  6. Click Add Source.

  7. We need the Write key from the final screen. Copy the key and navigate to the Faraday app to input this key securely (see below section for instructions).

  8. For future reference, you can access the key by opening the Source, then Settings (top navigation) → API keys (left-hand navigation)

Sending credentials securely to Faraday:

Go to the Faraday app’s Destinations console, click Create destination at the top.

  1. Search for Segment as a Destination location, enter a descriptive name, and click Next.

  2. Enter your credentials here, and click Next.

  3. Under Finalize, click Create destination. Faraday can now begin the integration process. Once your Account Manager confirms everything is all set up, Segment will be available as a destination in Reach, the Faraday tool used for delivering audiences to their destinations!

Deliveries to Segment

  1. Deliveries to Segment will automatically update traits  within Segment, and you can see the metadata being pushed by our deliveries in the Source

  2. Navigate to Sources in the left-hand sidebar and open the Faraday Source.

  3. Click Debugger along the top. If the delivery is currently copying, you can actually watch the delivery deliver.

  4. traits[persona] will provide the persona assignment.

  5. traits[churn_reduction_monitor] is the score by Outcome, where churn_reduction_monitor is the outcome name (in this example, it will vary), while the value is the score percentile (0-100%).
